Writing has consistently been a part of me from the time I was eight years old. When I write, words seem to pour from my mind onto the paper like water from a vessel. Consumption of thoughts rushing through my soul etch themselves so deeply and powerfully that I have no choice but to release them. Stuck in a vortex of imagination, my fingers fly across my keyboard faster than my thoughts. Lost I would be if I could not create the stories that swirl in my mind.
From a small child I have practiced many forms of writing including poetry, short stories, picture books, plays and novels. I’ve also focused on several different genres finding urban fantasy/ suspense stories one of my favorites. At the age of eleven, I won my first short story writing contest and at the age of thirteen I won my first poetry contest. At fifteen, at the request of my English Literature teacher, I wrote a play entitled This Wizard of Ours, which was performed by my high schools drama club. In 2007, with much pride, I had my first book published, The Island of Rouge.
Sharing my passion with words to reach the very souls of both children and adults has driven me to pursue the dedication of perfecting the very art that drives me daily. The possibility to make a difference, to impress upon a child the expansive horizons that lay outside of their normal, daily lives is greatly important to me. So from my heart to yours, Enjoy the Read!
